So I’m back to working full time. My inlaws are taking care of the baby this week, and then my wife (who’s a teacher) will be free for the summer. It’s much easier having full days to work, and not having the baby with me when I am here.
I counted up all the money I’ve found and that combined with what I deposited comes to $27.21. I’m going to stick to a single total. Last night I found $.21 outside of an ice cream place.
To spread the wealth so to speak, let me talk about gas stations:
Gas stations are great places to look for change. Consistantly I find change either in the area where people actually refuel, or in the spots nearby for people going in to get coffee or whatever. As we drove to NC and back at each stop we would get gas, and then park so the baby could feed and I would take the dog around for a walk. We probably stopped a dozen times between the trip to Cleveland, and the trip to NC, and I don’t think I failed to find change on any of the stops. Lots of clusters, lots of pennies. I don’t end up using real money at gas stations, always a credit card that gives me some percentage back, but even if I did, it’s not like you pump change intot he machine, so I don’t really have a good explaination other than that people are getting into and out of cars a lot.
If you have your own theories about why there’s so much change at gas stations, leave a comment.
